Dale Chihuly is an American glass sculptor. His work is awe and art inspiring. Amazing glass sculptures that rise from the earth or water, or hang from ceilings - explosions of color that celebrate life. Have your kid(s) each decorate a plastic disposable clear plastic cup with Sharpie (permanent) markers. Put the cups on top of foil in a 350 degree toaster oven or oven. Watch the cups melt so you can see when they were ready to come out. Pieces can be hung individually, glued together into a sculpture and hung or on a tabletop, or simply places together in a bowl. Share your designs!

Using a camera (camera, smart phone, ipad, etc) take a selection of close-up photographs around your home, neighborhood, or garden. Try getting very close to objects. Think about unusual angles and perspectives. What different viewpoints do you get if you crawl around the room? What great photographs could you take if you look inside objects, or lights or drawers? How can you make every-day objects look different or unusual by taking close-up photographs or cropping photographs? Take at least 30 photographs and then select your best 9. Either use an App such as PicCollage which allows you to put your photographs in a grid. Share your photos with me! Pick 3 of your favorites and draw & color them- Share again!
Photo the ELEMENTS OF ARTUse your mobile phone or an iPad to take a selection of photographs around your home or garden that have line, shape, value, color, form, space, and texture. Often when you get up close to wood, wicker, bark, carpet, clothing or other objects you can see the texture of their surface. There are lines, shape and color EVERYWHERE! Take 1 or multiple examples of each & use an App such as PicCollage which allows you to put your photographs in a grid.
